Amot Atrium
A high-end office building in the Diamond Exchange district of Ramat Gan — LEED Platinum (BD+C: Core & Shell)
Achievements
Pioneering double-skin façade for hot climate (natural-ventilation cooling)
100% of irrigation from recycled AC condensate
100% underground parking · high-reflectivity roof
Background
Amot Atrium is a high-end office building in the Diamond Exchange district of Ramat Gan.
Approach
Advanced double-skin façade: a unique curtain-wall system developed jointly by architect Moshe Zur, manufacturer Rami Bone – Aluminum Construction, and Alfa, improving SHGC and U-values. A pioneer in hot climates, it cools the envelope mainly via natural ventilation (buoyancy and Venturi effect between glazing layers), with an automatic mechanical fan for auxiliary ventilation in extreme heat. Tenants integrate occupancy sensors that switch off lighting and HVAC when spaces are unoccupied; a rooftop solar PV system is integrated into the design.
Methods
Water conservation: advanced water-saving fixtures, plus reuse of AC condensation water for toilet flushing (first 10 floors) and 100% of irrigation. Reduced impact: 100% underground parking and high-reflectivity roof to cut heat-island effect, construction erosion/dust controls, environmentally friendly refrigerants, and on-site solar PV.
